Location
Relay uses your location two ways: it pins each typed note to where you are, and it keeps a history of where you went, so ring notes get a place too.
Pin notes to a place
Section titled “Pin notes to a place”Pin notes to a place is on when you connect. The app asks for your location once, right after the phone connects. Each typed note then keeps where you were. The phone names the place itself, such as a street.
Location history
Section titled “Location history”- Open Settings.
- Turn on Location history.
- Allow your location. An iPhone asks a second time: choose Always Allow, so the app can record when it is closed.
The app keeps a point each 100 m you move, not a constant fix, so it uses little battery. On Android, the notification Relay is keeping your places stays while it records: Android asks for this.
A ring note takes the history point nearest in time, up to 10 minutes before or after you spoke.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”Turn off Pin notes to a place or Location history in Settings. The phone stops at once. Privacy says what the server keeps.
